A history of plagues!
Students from Salisbury's UTC learnt about the history of plagues recently when Petre Oyston from The Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) visited the college.
Petre explained what plagues are, how to treat them, as well as explaining to students how to get into careers at Dstl.
Dstl ensures that innovative science and technology contribute to the defence and security of the UK. Based at Porton Down near Salisbury it’s an executive agency sponsored by the Ministry of Defence.
It is also one of many businesses and partner organisations across the region, including the Royal Navy, Stannah and Serco, who support the UTC. They offer invaluable advice, financial contributions and time.
“Our students asked some excellent questions,” said Principal, Joe Mulligan. “They showed some solid knowledge of the subject to one of our lead employers. “
